Does exposure of personal data lead to a claim for damages?
I've found an online list of everyones names, user names, email and passwords, addresses and phone numbers of people who have signed up to a well established online casino. in terms and conditions it clearly states not to disclose any personal information to third party sites. Surely with all this information makes it very easy for someones identity be stolen if it was to get into the wrong hands … Would you be able to sue the company to allow their personal data to be so accessible?
If there was any real damage because of it, yes. Otherwise not.
